The Gamma-Nu chapter of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity was the first of its kind here at Washburn University. Coming to campus in 1909, the fraternity has existed here over 100 years collectively. During that time span, the fraternity has excelled in every aspect. It has regularly been a top tier organization for the University, as well as a shining example of what the national fraternity would call a successful chapter. This is due to the members' constant and continuous commitment to excellence and the fraternity's four pillars.
Over the years, the brothers of this chapter have been wildly successful in all four pillars, as they have constantly and consistently set new records for men pledged and initiated, men graduated, and most recently, more men are ritually proficient then ever before, proving an even greater love for the order than has ever existed. They have never shied away from being leaders on this campus, as they are frequently the most involved and are constantly the ones showing other students the right paths in every facet of college life. Their studies are continuously top tier, especially for the number of men that they hold in their chapter. From generation to generation, their GPA continues to grow as well as their commitment to their scholarship program. Lastly, through their philanthropic efforts they have raised thousands of dollars and devoted countless hours to multiple organizations that severely needed help. These organizations include Helping Hands Humane Society, Livestrong Foundation, Military Heroes Campaign and more; because of their commitment to these efforts, they have been able to help those in need and have continuously shown outstanding character by doing so when they would receive nothing in return.
Ultimately, that is what makes this chapter so great, and that is what has and always will help the chapter be top tier; its devotion to its pillars and its devotion to being great men.
